Edward Lyon Byington, of St. Louis County, MO, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Hackler; first wife, the late Shirley C. Byington; devoted father of Michael (Carole) Byington, Sherrie (Robert) Nauss, Vicky Byington (fiancé Ivan Smith), James (Debra) Byington; loving grandfather of Becky (Andy) Pilotte, Chris Byington, Danny (Kara) Byington, John Gransbach (fiancé Jaime Gomez), Jennifer (Mike) Achord, Brandon (Jessica) Zeisler, Nicholas Zeisler, Sarah (Robert) Burkhardt, and Cynthia Byington (fiancé Patrick Peanick); treasured great-grandfather of Blake, Brody, Layla, Oakley, Redding, Adelynn, Isabelle, Eddie, Demi, Adam, and Holly; dear brother of Linda (Gene) Schwidde and the late Marshall, Sidney, William, Robert, and Fred Byington. Ed is also survived by his beloved cat, Miss Kitty.

Ed proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He began his own business, Affiliated Garage Door Systems in 1969. Ed liked to hunt, go on road trips and travel, watch NASCAR and he raced his own stock car with the #79. Ed was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial donations may be made in Ed's name to Salvation Army.
