Edward F. Hoover

December 7, 1930 — December 2, 2018

Edward Frank Hoover passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the age of 87. Loving husband of Joan Mae Hoover; devoted father of David Gary (Nancy) Hoover; cherished grandfather of Christopher (Angela) Hoover; treasured great grandfather of Brooklyn Duhadway; dear brother-in-law of Bonnie (the late Harry) Holden; and dearest uncle of Barry (Tracy) Holden. Edward was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Catherine Hoover.

Edward was born in Berwick, Pennsylvania. He was married to the love of his life, Joan, for 66 years. He entered into the U.S. Army in 1952 and proudly served during the Korean War. After serving in the military, Edward went to work for Wise Potato Chip Co., which later changed to Borden Foods. He retired after more than 45 years as a Chemist and Director of Quality Control.

Edward truly enjoyed spending time with his family. He and his wife enjoyed traveling together to many exotic places such as Australia, Alaska, and Europe, and they sailed around the world on many cruises. One of Edwards favorite thing to was to prepare an itinerary of the trips once they returned.

Edward loved history and liked researching about WWII. He was a dedicated member of the Masonic Order; Master of Local Knapp Lodge in Berwick, PA. He was also a member of the American Chemical Society. Edward will be greatly missed, but forever kept in their hearts as a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend to all.
