Edward Lates

Edward J. Lates, age 87, of O’Fallon, Missouri, died peacefully August 29, 2010. A son of the late Joseph and Anna Lates (nee: Boychuk), Ed was born on March 8, 1923, in Brooklyn, New York. Ed entered into service of his country on Monday, September 21, 1942 at Rctg Station, New York as a member of the U.S.Army during WWII. He was discharged Monday, February 11, 1946 at Camp Fannin, Texas. After his military service Ed worked as a Probation Officer for the State of New York Family Service Family Courts. Proud member of the American Legion Post 24 in Bradenton, Florida. He is survived by his wife S. Ann Lates, two daughters, Marushka (Malcolm) Royse of O'Fallon, Missouri and Patricia (Paul) Kopetka of Myersville, Maryland. Cherished Grandfather of five and Great-Grandfather of one. He is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
