Edward O. Payden, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away on October 20, 2023. Born in Killeen, Texas on February 4, 1972, Edward led a vibrant and fulfilling life that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Edward was known for his passion for working and building guns, particularly AR15's. He poured his heart into honing his craft and took great pride in his creations. Alongside his love for firearms, he had a fondness for attending antique markets, where he searched diligently for old tools, army memorabilia, and boy scout memorabilia. Edward found joy in collecting these timeless treasures that held stories from the past.
A devoted and adoring husband to Stacey for 20 years, Edward always referred to her as the most beautiful girl in the world. Although he enjoyed teasing her and pushing her buttons playfully, his admiration and love for her knew no bounds. Their love was evident through their years of companionship and shared experiences.
Described as a goofball with an infectious spirit, Edward never failed to bring a smile to people's faces. He had a knack for lightheartedness and could never take a serious picture — always leaving behind snapshots filled with laughter and happy memories. Edward was truly the life of the party, ensuring that everyone around him felt welcomed and included.
When he wasn't immersed in his hobbies or spending cherished moments with loved ones, Edward savored the simple pleasures of life. He had a particular fondness for Waffle House steak sandwiches — an indulgence that brought him immense satisfaction. Additionally, he relished the tranquility of camping trips wrapped around bonfires under starlit skies.
Edward leaves behind a profound legacy of love and cherished memories. He will forever be remembered as the loving husband of Stacey Payden (nee: Ashton); dedicated father of James "Ali" Payden and Samuel Payden.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Edward's name to a charity that shares his passion for supporting veterans or one that promotes firearm safety education. These are causes close to his heart and honoring them would be a lasting tribute to his legacy.
Edward O. Payden has left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known him. As we bid farewell to a cherished individual, may we find strength in one another during this difficult time and always carry the memory of Edward's infectious joy in our hearts.
