Edwin L. Echelmeyer, 100 years old, fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, on Sunday January 07, 2024. Loving Husband of 61 Years to Audrey M. Echelmeyer (nee: Richey) who proceeded him in death. Cherished son of the late Margaret and William A. Echelmeyer; devoted father of Cathy Vieluf, Edith Tierney, Pati (the late Richard) Thomas, Ed (Adalia) Echelmeyer, Maria (Deacon Richard) Tadlock, Tim (Mescal) Echelmeyer, and Rick (Dana) Echelmeyer; loving grandfather of 25 and great grandfather of 46; precious great-great grandfather of 1; beloved uncle, cousin, and friend. Edwin was also preceded in death by his son, Gerald Echelmeyer, two granddaughters, Charis Echelmeyer, Sierra Ridgeway Crane, his great grandson, Noah Echelmeyer, and his siblings: Bernice Bounk, Alvina Echelmeyer, Loretta Echelmeyer, William Echelmeyer, and Lester Echelmeyer.
Ed was a proud and honorable WWII veteran stationed in Panama Canal. He worked at the Dykem company and was the proud owner of the Arrowhead Motel in Columbia, Missouri for nearly 30 years. He was an avid fan of the Cardinals and took up painting at the age of 85. Over the last 15 years prior to his death, Ed has painted over 1500 paintings. Ed was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
