Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Eileen Willkie McElya, passed away at St. Joseph Health Center on Friday, November 2, 2007. Beloved wife of the late Samuel L. McElya, Sr. Dearest mother of Samuel L. McElya, Jr., Mary Gregory and Laurie Anne McElya. Loving mother-in-law to Carol Woerheide and Sherry McElya. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Michael and Mary Catherine Hawkins Willkie, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. A dear aunt and friend to many. Eileen was an anchor and touchstone to her family. As she valiantly fought her illness, she fought the good fight every single day with strength, courage and dignity. Eileen is also survived by her grandchildren Melinda (Ed) Kues, Stephanie McElya, Steven, Richard, Lisa and Sarah Gregory, Stephen and Russell Heskett and great grandchildren Jarred and Ashley Kues, Devyn, Kortnie and Kendall Heskett.
