In loving memory of Elaine Marie Harke, July 28, 1964-June 13, 2024, St. Charles, MO. Elaine left this world too soon after an 8 year, hard-fought battle with cancer. Her beautiful smile and strength remained throughout the valiant fight.
Elaine was a fantastic wife, a loving daughter, and the best sister, aunt, great aunt, niece, and cousin a family could ask for. She cherished numerous friends, enjoying each encounter.
Elaine’s influence in the classroom led her to mentor many teachers and many more students during her 26-year math career at Hazelwood West. Throughout her life, she enjoyed playing and watching sports. While she could be found tuning into any sport on tv or in person, she also competed in several and was even recognized as an academic all American in softball at Maryville, joined an elite club with a hole-in-one at Country Lake, and some even believed she had the Cardinals dugout on speed dial.
Elaine lived life to the fullest. This included regular happy hours, traveling, hanging out with her fun people, and car rides in the country. She will most be remembered as a kind, generous, forgiving, compassionate, competitive, and intelligent woman.
Elaine lived a beautiful life and passed away loved, admired and respected. She was a wonderful human and made this world a better place.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Mercy Hospice St. Louis. A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
