Elizabeth K. (Bette) Gutowski

Elizabeth “Bette” Katherine Gutowski (nee Nowak), age 91, of O’Fallon, Missouri, October 14, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Louis A. “Lou” Gutowski; cherished daughter of the late John and Angelia Nowak; devoted mother of Jeanette (Nick) Schnitzius, Anni (Jim) Stephens, Anthony (Alicia) Gutowski, II, and Barb (Bernard) Seiffert; loving grandmother of Thomas (Kaci) Stephens, Brian (April) Seiffert, Becky Cooseman, Craig (Laura) Schnitzius, Anthony Gutowski III, and Alexandria Gutowski; treasured great-grandmother of Mackenzie, Bailey, Trista, Macee, Arianna, and Lilah; and dear sister of Leonard (Carol) Nowak. She was preceded in death by 7 siblings.




Elizabeth was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a former Queen of the Polish Falcons of America and a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary – De Andres Council. Elizabeth as a youth was a gymnast, and threw the discus.  As an adult Bette was a great bowler, and a champion dart player. She loved to shop, play bingo and she was a great seamstress.  She was deeply loved and will be immensely missed by all who knew her.
