Elma Marie Nelson

Elma Marie Nelson (nee Dayton), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of Charles Nelson; cherished daughter of the late Elmer and Viola Dayton; devoted mother of Deborah (Jack Ronald) Upton, Mark (Cynthia) Sumpter, Greg (Catherine) Sumpter, Pamela Nelson, and the late Kirby Sumpter; loving grandmother of Danelle (David) Baxter, Christa Robinson, Marek Upton, Victoria Kaufmann, Anna Marie Sumpter, Alexander Greubel, and the late Jack Upton; precious great grandmother of Ryder Liner and Madelyn Baxter; dear sister of Carol Ann Venturella, the late Shirley Handley, Joe Dayton, and Billy Dayton; dear friend of Jean (The late Robert) Edler. She is preceded in death by and her first husband, Frank Sumpter. 

Elma was a loving and kind person. She devoted her love to her husband of 37 years and absolutely adored her children and grandchildren. Elma enjoyed watching the STL Cardinals and she favored Christmas and snowmen. Elma was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Memorials may be made in Elma's name to St. Luke's Hospital.
