Hitt, Elwood Lee “Woody”, of O’Fallon, MO, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the age of 89. Loving husband of Elizabeth “Liz” Hitt; beloved son of the late Norman and Helen Hitt; devoted father of Diana (Don) Redfern and Jerry Hitt; cherished grandfather of Scott Redfern, Jeri (Tim) Leeker Melanie Hitt, and Alexis Hitt; treasured great-grandfather of Cameron Leeker, Lucas Roettger, Zoie Redfern, and Jewel Schade.
Woody proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and he was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
