Emily Kay Jendras

Emily Kay (Reinbold) Jendras, age 74, passed away on October 22, 2018 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Emily was a resident of O’Fallon, MO. She grew up in Brownstown, IN where she graduated from Brownstown High School.

She was a faithful church member for many years of Cornerstone United Methodist Church and more recently a member of Sunrise United Methodist Church.

She drove a school bus for Parkway School District for many years.

She married Larry Eckelman out of high school. They were married for 23 years and were blessed with two amazing children.

She was married the second time to Steve Jendras for 25 years.

After Steve’s retirement from Boeing, she and Steve opened an embroidery shop in Florissant in 1991. The shop moved to Main Street in St. Charles in 1995 after tremendous growth. Her shop remained open until 2004 when she became unable to work due to her Multiple Sclerosis.

She was passionate about raising money for The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation which was a condition she suffered from for 35 years.

She was a Sunday school director and teacher. She volunteered for many charities, worked on many service projects and served in her church food pantry.

She was the loving wife of the late Steve Jendras; beloved daughter of the late George and Ardena Reinbold; devoted mother of Dena (Richard) Payne and Dane (Jennifer) Eckelman; adored stepmother of David (Gail) Jendras, Sr., Christopher Jendras, Douglas Jendras, Jeffrey Jendras, Joan Beck, Ben Pfeifer, Teri Spector, and Kathleen Pfeifer; proud grandmother of Emily Watts and Rachel Eckelman; treasured step-grandmother of Christina (Delwin) Wilson, David Jendras, Jr., Bradley Pingel, Daniel Waxman, Jonathan Pfeifer, Christopher (Genesis) Pfeifer, Dillon Waxman, Mary Payne, and Natalie (Joe) Lanzi; cherished great-grandmother of Aviana Pingel, Mal’aki, and Ezekiel; and dear sister of Anedra (the late Gordon), James (Christine) Reinbold, Phyllis (Jackie) Sutherland, and Barbara Schmidt.

Memorial contributions may be made in Emily’s honor to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
