Eric M. Buryn, of Louisville, KY, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the age of 45. Eric was born in Clinton, Iowa on February 20, 1976. Eric graduated from Francis Howell North High School. He briefly attended Missouri State University before realizing that he could teach classes more effectively and decided to join the Military (1994 – 1999) for adventurous opportunities. During his military career, he traveled throughout the world. During his last assignment in South, Korea he learned to love the history, culture, and food. With the completion of his honorable service with the 75th Ranger Regiment, 3rd Airborne Battalion, he continued to receive his Bachelor of Business from Murray State University.
Eric met the love of his life Karen Grider in the summer of 2011 at Patoka Lake and they were married on Oct. 17, 2015, they were married for 6 years in the presence of her beloved deceased father Maxton Grider.
Eric worked as an Engineer for Verizon Wireless for 6 years where he met lifelong friends that were dear to him. He enjoyed playing punk rock music (Julius Seizure, Pancakes House, and DoBA, Cardinal Baseball (Rally Squirrel), Blackhawks Hockey, Soccer (Life changing World Cup), Connoisseur of Gourmet food also the McRib, Wine & great Bourbon, inspiring people to do great things, family, sharing all, barbequing delicious meats, cooking, and living life to the fullest. His proudest achievement in 2021 was to be named a Kentucky Colonel – The Honorable Eric M. Buryn.
Eric is survived by his wife Karen and children Dalton (Cassie Bays), Tori (Christian), pups Leon and Ieja. His beloved parents Lou and Kathy Buryn, brother Kevin, Min Ja Grider, Sandra, and Stephan McCreary (children Stephan, Zoe, Ella, Lily) Patti and Steve Kestler (children Kyele and Collin), Allen and Angela (his children Chris and Michael), Barbara and Tim Cruse (Children Candace and Sam, - Porter and Hayden Lee), Donna and Skip Boll, Monica Lieser (Nathaniel and Mitchell), Abby Boll and friends Matt Stansbury, Michael and Jen Anderson (Children Colby and Conner), Brian and Chessi Spangler (Children Alex and Zack), Jack and Allie (Children) Scott Hansen and ALL his loved friends. Julie and Chris Todd, Leanne Barnhardt, Mat Buryn, June Smith, Debra Ellis, and many cousins.
Eric is preceded in death by Elizabeth and Thaddus Buryn.
