Weston, Eric Thomas, of Saint Charles, MO, died on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at the age of 35. Beloved son of Bruce (Jeanne) Weston and Peggy Weston; loving brother of Jim (Alex) Weston and Pat (Alex) Weston, and step-brother of Tony (Carrie) Mejia-Troop, Shawn (Rachael) Troop, and Karla Miller; dear uncle of Drew Weston, Drake Weston, Anabel Mejia-Troop, Isaac Mejia-Troop, Owsley Mejia-Troop, Jacob “J.J.” Troop, Brendon Troop, Chase Fitzgerald, Trent Busby, and Bryce Gerdes; and loving nephew, cousin, and friend to many.
Eric Weston was a youthful looking 35 year old with a contagious laugh and loving disposition for family and children. He was a bright and curious young man who searched for his own understanding and vision in many ways. Eric was loved by many. His family and friends loved him deeply and, as a late bloomer in life’s journey, he recently found love and was looking forward to having his own family one day. Eric enjoyed playing professional poker, cooking, football, computers, music, and, most of all, he enjoyed having a good laugh with his family and friends. His experiences in the path of life were many; nonetheless, family and his close friends came first. Those of us that knew him were amazed by his intellectual gifts and his emotional simplicity. In many occasions, we wondered how these two extreme qualities could be embodied in one soul. He could work out a complex mathematical equation, while needing a reminder to maintain a schedule. He could play nine hands of online poker at a time, and yet he couldn’t keep track of his keys and wallet. Yes, this was our dear Eric, a loving, dear son, brother, uncle, and friend embodied in one. We will miss his laughter, we will miss his love for all of us, but we are thankful for the blessing of sharing his life with those of us that loved him so dearly, and we are at peace that his journey has ended in the blessed hands of the Lord.
Memorial donations may be made, in Eric’s name, to The Crossroads Program.
