Eric "The Bru" Brunner

July 14, 1941 — September 5, 2022

O'Fallon

On Monday, September 5th, 2022, Eric "The Bru" Brunner left this place to be with his parents & the Lord. He leaves behind his wife of over 30 years, Marci Brunner and their children Matthew (and Toni) Meester & Bethany (and Rodney) Scott, along with a small gaggle of grandkids.

Eric, also called Papa by his family, lived the kind of life you can only hope for: Loved by his family, working hard in an industry he excelled in (Computers & tech for Wells Fargo) and living long enough to enjoy a peaceful retirement. Marci & Eric traveled often with their friends, going on cruises & European excursions! He loved to explore and that didn't just stop with travel! While his grandkids were growing up, you can bet on a Friday afternoon he was playing adventure videogames with them! Or on a stormy night, he could be found making blanket forts & reading "Goosebumps", "Lord of the Rings" or classic epics with them. He always made sure to have a hearty meal ready for gatherings...I'd say "Family" gatherings, but really, they were bigger than that. We only gave him grief one time when he forgot rolls at thanksgiving, luckily, we never spoke of that again...To any that spent time with Eric, you'd be introduced to his fiery passion for debate! He'd love to have deep conversations about nothing & everything with anyone who would listen. Lately, you could see him light up when talking about his recovery after he found fellowship in celebrate recovery.  He worked hard to mentor & help others struggling with alcoholism, he was proudly sober for 7 years. He was also a faithful Catholic with his wife and eldest grandson doing a lot of work for their church. A life full of Love, A soul full of Faith & a chair with a deep butt-print, Eric Brunner will be missed. Go Broncos!

To any that would like to join in celebrating his wonderful life, please join us on September 14th at Baue O’Fallon at 5:00pm and September 15th at Assumption Catholic Church at 9:30am
