Erik Cotter Ringwald

Erik C. Ringwald of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 65 on Saturday, April 17, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Gladys Ringwald; and his brothers, Ralph Ringwald, Kerry Ringwald, and Brett Ringwald.

Erik is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Ringwald; his children, Erika Ringwald, Rachel (Nicholas) Politte, and Jakob Ringwald; and he was an uncle, cousin, brother in-law, and friend to many.

Erik devoted much of his life to a career in the medical field, beginning with his work at the Northwest ambulance district of Overland, MO, when he was fifteen years old. He later became a secretary/technician and began his nursing career at Mercy Hospital, establishing himself as a registered nurse where for over forty-five years he served and cared for others. Erik, by nature, was a teacher at heart and he was able to fulfill that passion at the School of Radiology at Mercy Hospital. Erik’s calling for administering care was seen in his dedication to Christian Medical Outreach mission program, Por Los Niños, in Peru.

In his free time, Erik enjoyed working with his best friend, Randy, on flipping houses and spending time with his wife and children. From painting his daughters’ nails, determination to keep up with his sons’ calculus, and never living down the one time he forgot his wedding anniversary, Erik loved and cared deeply for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Erik’s name may be made to Por Los Niños.
