Ernest Carroll Green, 82, of Wentzville, Missouri, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus while surrounded by his beloved family on July 7, 2021. Ernest was born on May 15, 1939, in Puxico, Missouri to the late Earnest and Edna (Scott) Green. He graduated from Puxico High School in 1960.
Ernest was a proud business owner. He never met a stranger, never forgot a face, and everyone he met became a friend. After retiring, he spent his time enjoying life with his family. Ernest never turned down a chance to snuggle or entertain his grandchildren with stories and jokes, was eager to listen, and always supported his family. He enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball, listening to Gospel music, and caring for his loving wife.
Ernest became a believer in Christ at a young age, spent his life living out his faith, and was a Godly example of love to his family and friends. His selfless love was a shining light that will be missed by his children, grandchildren, and especially his wife of 55 years. Ernest married the love of his life and best friend, Charlene (Duncan), in 1965. During their 55 years of marriage, Ernest and Charlene were nearly inseparable.
Ernest is survived by his faithful wife, Charlene; son, Byron Green; daughters, Teresa (Bill) Swaringim, Tina (Eric) Allen, and Tammy Green; grandchildren, Brittany, Caitlyn, Ashleigh, Brandon, August, Hannah, Breanna, and Emma; brother, Jerry Green; sister, Glenda Bozeman; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ernest was preceded in death by his eldest son, Steven; brother, James Green; sisters, Nadine Hemby, Maxine Parker, and Bonnie Drury.
