Ernest “Ernie” Henderson

Ernest (Ernie) R. Henderson of St. Charles, MO passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the age of 88; beloved husband of Christine (Gegg) Henderson for 67 years; devoted father of Gary (Maxine) Henderson of Oakland TN, Darla (Don) Wertenberger, Randy Henderson, Geri (Bill) Willbrand of St. Charles and Kevin (Lisa) Henderson of Poplar Bluff, MO; cherished grandfather of Stephanie (Jay) Grothe, Heather (Kyle) Lopez, Jennifer (Ross) Terando, Merideth (John) Townsend, Krissi (Sam) Carney, Shane (Sarah) Henderson, Dustin (Joanna) Willbrand, Nick (Nath) Henderson, Jeffrey (Ellen) Wertenberger, Angela (Ronnie) Fink, Aaron and Jacob Henderson; treasured great-grandfather of Olivia Grothe, Tate Townsend, Hudson Terando, Brody Lopez, Reed Townsend, Ava and Brianna Henderson, Madden Terando, Abby Carney, Parker Townsend, Henry Lopez, Lily Grothe, Molly Carney, Rosie Townsend, Ella Grothe, Frannie Townsend and Owen Carney; he is survived by a dear brother Don Henderson and a sister-in-law Wilma (Don) McGuire, also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas J. Henderson and mother Trula Rhyne Henderson, two sisters Georgia Moore and Marjorie (Virgil) Link, four brothers Robert (Dale) Henderson, Adrian (Susie) Henderson, Tommy (Marjetta) Henderson, Bill (Gloria) Henderson and sister-in-law Patricia Henderson. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law Gilbert (Martha) Gegg, a brother-in-law Vernon Gegg and a sister-in-law Gilberta (Vincent) Gegg. He was preceded in death by a dear little great-granddaughter Mary Katherine Townsend.

Ernie was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and his greatest joy was spending time with his family. His greatest hobby was watching NASCAR races on TV. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
