Esther “Geri” Banta

Esther “Geri” Banta (nee Simpson) of Bridgeton, MO, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Donald Banta; cherished daughter of the late Guy and Lena Simpson; devoted mother of Bruce (Terri) Banta and the late Craig Banta; loving grandmother of Eric Banta, Kristie Banta, Scott Banta, Justin (Whitney) Banta; treasured great-grandmother of Emily, Abigail, Haley, Ethan, Luke, and Kinley; and sister of the late Lorraine Backowski.

Geri kept herself very active all through her years. She was involved with the Bridgeton Civic Center, supported numerous animals through humane societies, a past member of the Red Hat Society, and devotedly delivered for Meals on Wheels for more than 30 years. She had great dedication for helping others and loved to tend to her four-legged friends. In her earlier years she raised and showed horses all over the country and later she poured her passion into potting plants and flowers of all types. Geri was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
