Gene Korhammer, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Joyce Korhammer; cherished son of the late Charles and Anna Korhammer; devoted father of Linda (Mark) Rathz, Gregory (Linda) Korhammer, Brian Korhammer and Caroline (Doug) Nahm; loving grandfather of Amy (Drew) Degeare, Joseph Rathz, Paula (Paul) Hampel, Tyler Korhammer, Brooke (Caleb) Thietje, Anna Korhammer, Philip Rathz, Josh Nahm, Sara Korhammer and Caleb Nahm; treasured great-grandfather of Nina and Wes; dear brother of Janet (Don) Lindner, Judy (the late Bob) Riedy, Nancy (Ron) McKenzie, the late Charles (Marlyne) Korhammer and the late Robert (Carol) Korhammer.
Eugene’s life revolved around church, family and friends. He was a faithful, longtime member of Assumption Catholic Church in South St. Louis County and a current member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially planning dinner with everyone. He loved traveling and was a big golfer. Eugene was the cub scout leader for his sons and coach for his children’s sports teams while they were growing up. Eugene retired from Missouri Machinery & Engineering and in his retirement, you could find him conducting demonstrations at trade shows specifically around the Midwest. He was very knowledgeable and enjoyed Missouri history. Eugene was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
