Eunice Marie (Anderson) Olds, died Sept. 13th at Parkside Meadows Retirement Community in St. Charles, Missouri. She was born February 9, 1917, in Argyle, WI the daughter of Alfred and Julia (Poff) Anderson. She received her teaching certificate from Whitewater Teachers College in 1938, and taught at the Moscow District School near Blanchardville. She married Howard Olds on May 24th, 1941. They lived in Edgerton, Lake Koshkonong, Dayton OH, Towson MD, Jackson MI, Sandusky OH, Indianapolis IN, and Monroe, before moving to Darlington in 1946. Eunice resumed her career in 1952, teaching at the Conley, Sheldon, Mount Pleasant, and Willow Springs one-room schoolhouses and later at the Darlington Grade School. Eunice earned her Masters Degree at UW Platteville in 1968. The Oldses moved to Chilton in 1969, where Eunice resumed her teaching career at Chilton Middle School until her retirement in 1979. The family built a retirement home on Lake Kildare near Land OLakes WI, where they lived for 10 years before moving to the Hot Springs Village Retirement Community in Arkansas. They joined son David and family in Surfside Beach SC in 1996, and then son Dick and family in St. Charles MO in 2002. Eunice was predeceased by son David in Myrtle Beach, SC on November 24th, 1999. She is survived by her husband Howard and son Dick (St. Charles MO), sisters Irene Meyer (Blanchardville) and Inez Foesch (LaCanada CA), a brother Irvin Anderson (Rockaway Beach MO), and 5 grandchildren: Coleen Campi (Conway SC), Angela Card (Tampa FL), Alisa Bloomfield (Canton MI), Emily Olds (Tempe AZ), and Jessica Olds (Boston MA). A Memorial Service will be held at the Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson St., St. Charles MO 63301, on Saturday October 4th at 1:00 PM. Former students and friends of Eunice are encouraged to visit the www.Baue.com website, sign the guest register, and pass along any fond memories, which will be shared at the Memorial Service.
