Evelyn J. Douglas, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the age of 86. Loving wife of the late Jackie D. Douglas; beloved daughter of the late Everett and Cora North; devoted mother of Don Douglas, Robert (Ellen) Douglas, Marty (Lisa) Douglas, Wendy (Jeff) Moore, and the late Brad Douglas; mother-in-law of Rochelle Douglas-Holt; cherished grandmother of Savannah Moore, Payton Douglas, Emma Douglas, and Heather Moore. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her brothers, John (Frances) North, Verne (Leola) North; and her sister, Elizabeth (Bill) Estabrook.
Evelyn was a wonderful homemaker for her family, and she truly loved taking care of them. She provided everything they could ever want, and she cherished every minute that she put into the preparation. She was a very good cook and baker, which she was known for her pies and homemade candy. She also enjoyed sewing and could sew just about anything her family needed. Evelyn always felt right at home with her family, and she would say there was a peace in her heart when her family was around her.
Evelyn was a faithful believer is Jesus Christ. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran for many years, and she was very involved with the church. She sang in the praise band on Sundays. She also volunteered with welcome committee and hospitality group to ensure everyone was welcomed and taken care of if there was a special time of need.
In her younger years, Evelyn really enjoyed taking family camping trips to Current River and Table Rock Lake. They would canoe and swim, and she brought almost the whole kitchen, just so she could cook up whatever her family wanted.
Evelyn liked spending time outdoors and taking care of her flowers. She even took care of the rose bushes outside her apartment at Sun Valley Lake. She enjoyed birdwatching outside on her patio, and she loved spending time with her cats.
Evelyn will be remembered for her warm heart, her caring nature, and her love of her family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
