Evelyn Martha McClellan, née Dieckman (Aunt Dickey) was born September 6, 1920 to Frank Carroll and Ida Georgia Dieckman in the Prairie View Vicinity of Warren County. She passed into God's loving care at home, peacefully in her sleep, on June 20, 2013 at the age of 92 years, 9 months, and 14 days. Evelyn's Mother passed away when she was 3 years old and her sister Charlotte died of burns when she was a toddler. Her father remained on the farm raising Evelyn, her sister Dorothy and brother Carroll until they moved into the city of Warrenton so the children could go to high school. On September 12, 1947, she was united in marriage to Austin A. McClellan of Elsberry, Mo. They had two sons, Adrain of Ballwin, Mo and Ronald of Ocean Springs, MS. Evelyn moved to St. Charles, Mo with her husband and their sons in July of 1957 which remained their permanent home. Evelyn was an active member of St. John UCC where she served on the Church Council, taught Sunday school for many years, and served on various committees throughout her active years. She participated in the PTA and was also a Volunteer for the American Red Cross for almost 30 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, 2 sisters, one grandson, Jeffery, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is mourned by her two sons, Adrain and Ronald; two daughters-in-law, Kathy and Anne; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Alyssa, Leslie, Adrienne, Alexis, Austin, and Connor; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, St. John UCC Cemetery, or St. John UCC Radio Fund.
