Evelyn L. Sanders

Evelyn L Sanders (nee Smith), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Wayne Emerson Sanders; cherished daughter of the late Alice (Gillis) and Vernon Smith; devoted mother of Wayne (Sara) Sanders, Wesley (Diane) Sanders, and the late Terri Sanders; loving grandmother of Libby Hollander, Amanda (Randall) Martin, and Joshua Sanders; precious great grandmother of Lillie Hollander, Mia Martin, Cora Martin, Will Martin, and Joey Martin; and dear sister of the late Ruth Henshaw, Libby Priest, and James Vernon Smith.

Evelyn dedicated her entire life to the roles of a devoted housewife and mother. Taking pride in being the spouse of a firefighter, her greatest joy stemmed from her children, who held the utmost importance in her world. Over a span of fifteen years, she served as a secretary at the National Personnel Records. Beyond her professional life, Evelyn found solace and joy in activities such as solving crossword puzzles, indulging in reading, cherishing butterflies, adoring Tweety Bird, and nurturing her love for planting and tending to flowers. Her warm and loving presence endeared her to all who knew her, and her absence will be keenly felt by those who were touched by her kindness and grace.

Memorials may be made in Evelyn's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Missouri Chapter.
