Born in a modest one bedroom cabin deep in the Missouri Ozarks to a mid-wife, this country girl with such humble beginnings managed to travel around the world.
Before her travels began, she migrated from the Ozarks to University City where she became a successful student and gymnast. While watching a pickup baseball game at Heman Park, she caught the eye of local baseball star Francis “Babe” Schrick and from that point on they were inseparable.
She quickly became immersed into a life of sports from cheering on “Babes” baseball and softball endeavors, to later traveling the country to watch her sons compete, she wore the badge of soccer mom with honor. Her only complaints were the days that had two events and she could only see one of them.

She bravely traveled the country from one state to the other. She also navigated travels to Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Spain, Puerto Rico, Siberia and Russia.
A Master Gardner with the greenest of thumbs, she could grow anything anywhere and rescue the sickest of plants.
Mostly though, she was a humble servant of God, she carried her faith deeply and held on with strong convictions. Her kindness, compassion, and humility were the key notes to her soul and if it is true the “meek shall inherit the earth”, then Mom will own the Horizons.
