Everett L. Shy Sr., born December 29, 1933, son of the late Clarence and Muriel Shy. He passed away on December 25, 2020 at the age of 86. On October 15, 1954 he was united in marriage to Roberta Fay (Crocker) Shy, and to this union one son, Everett Shy Jr. was born. Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, a stepmother, Margaret Shy; a brother, Charles Shy, and half-brothers: Robert and Darrell Shy; a half-sister Sue Merkel; and his loving grandparents, Charles and Stella Shy.
He leaves to mourn his passing: son, Everett and wife, Christine of Wentzville, MO; two grandchildren, Molly Drews and husband, Mike of Wentzville, MO, and Ryan Shy of O’Fallon, MO, and a great-grandson, Brennan Drews; three brothers: Bernell Shy and wife, Sandy, Lawrence Shy, and wife the late Brenda and Ray Shy all of St. Charles, MO; three sisters: Ina Hamilton and husband, Bill of Kentucky, Marcella Crase and husband, Glen of Thayer, MO, Barb Zlataric and husband, John of Michigan; three half-sisters: Mary Hayes and husband the late Bob, Joyce Shy, Michelle Shadowens and husband Mike of Herculaneum, MO; two half-brothers: Ronnie Shy and wife Missy of Barnhart, MO and Clarence Shy Jr. and wife the late Lonnie of Herculaneum, MO; and a host of nephews and nieces.
On October 8, 1959, he gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized and joined the Locust Grove Church of Oats, MO, later moving his membership to First Baptist Church of St. Charles where he remained a member. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He will be sadly missed by his son, daughter in law, and grandchildren and all who knew him.
Memorial contributions may be made in Everett’s name to First Baptist Church of St. Charles.
