Faye Ann Murphy (nee Gerace), of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Marshall “Doc” Murphy; beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Sarah (Napoli) Gerace. devoted mother of Janet Rowberry, Susan (Floyd) Wright, Mark (Vicki) Murphy, Bruce (Tina) Murphy, and Jeffrey (Cheryl) Murphy; cherished grandmother, great grandmother, step grandmother, and step great grandmother; dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Faye met her husband Doc when he returned home after World War II. She spotted him driving his new Ford convertible around the Walnut Park neighborhood in north St. Louis where they both lived. Six months later they were married. Their marriage lasted 46 years until Doc’s death in 1993. He was truly the love of her life and she missed him terribly for the last 28 years. Family was important to Faye and she was a devoted wife, and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Faye was a homemaker almost all of her life.
Faye had a large extended family of sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was very close to her sisters and saw them often. She was a wonderful cook who loved to prepare meals for family gatherings. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals and watched the games whenever she could. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine parish in St. Charles, MO and was a member of the YMCA in St. Peters, MO for many years.
She is happy in heaven dancing with Doc – her soulmate. They are together again!
