''Teenie'' Goellner, a newspaper employee and co-founder of a printing company in St. Charles, died Sunday (October 1, 2006) of infirmities at Mount Carmel Senior Living. She was 94. Mrs. Goellner began work in 1928 at the age of 16 as a linotype operator for the St. Charles Daily Banner News. During the war years she contributed to the war effort as a riveter at Curtiss-Wright. She subsequently returned to the Banner-News and spent some years with the St. Charles Daily Cosmos-Monitor. She was married for 57 years to Clarence A. Goellner; he died in 1994. She was a quiet lifelong contributor to countless causes and religious concerns. She especially found satisfaction in her garden, friends, nurturing her grandchildren and those in need. Among her life memories were her and her husband's acquaintance with the campaign efforts on behalf of Presidents Harry S. Truman and John F. Kennedy. In 1959, she and husband Clarence, co-founded Goellner Printing, Inc. in St. Charles. Today the firm is owned and managed by her son Bill Goellner and grandson Chris Goellner. She retired in 1984, after 56 years in the printing industry. She then devoted years of care giving to her husband and sister. Her final years were spent in the loving care of family and the staff of Mount Carmel. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Elmendorf, a brother and sister and 21 brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her son Bill (Stephanie) Goellner and daughter Mary (Jack) Meier, grandchildren Chris,Tom, Lara, Beth, Kelly, Matt, Joe and Jack, eleven great grandchildren, and sisters-in-law Alice Pallardy and Erlene Goellner.
