Floy F. Hamby

Floy Faye Hamby, née Wright, passed away on January 16, 2024, at the age of 79 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on November 3, 1944, in Illmo, Missouri. Floy will be remembered as a Christian who believed in Jesus Christ and faithfully read her bible daily.  She may have been stubborn, but more so selfless. She always made herself available to anyone who needed help. She always prioritized the needs of others above her own, all the while indulging in her love of online shopping. Floy cherished her family and spent as much time with them as she could. She was known for her stern and strong-willed nature. 

Floy had a deep love for cats and considered them to be her children. Over the years, she welcomed many feline companions into her home, cherishing each one for their unique personalities. 

Floy is survived by her children: Anthony (Karen) Hamby, Sheila Treece, and Jon Hamby, as well as her step-sons: Darwin Hamby and James Hamby Jr. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, Casey (Chad), Dustin (Michelle), Chelsey, Ashley (Mick), Josh, Phil (MaKayla), Jamie (Justin), Derek (Chelsea), James III (Melissa), Jesse, and J.D.; great-grandchildren, Kristopher, Dakota, Maison, Sophia, Skylyn, Adillynne, Jullien, Liam, London, Aubrey, Wesley, and Blaine, all of whom she cherished dearly. 

Floy was preceded in death by her husband, James Hamby Sr., and her children Rhonda Hamby Martel, Derek Hamby, and daughter-in-law Tory Hamby. She also mourned the loss of her grandson, Justin Price. 

Floy will be deeply missed by her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
