Francis “Patrick” Decker, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at the age of 65. He truly lived a blessed life starting with his great parents, Ed and Marian and siblings, Mary, Bill, Danny and Timothy. His family life, with numerous Aunts, Uncles and dear cousins was such a great experience, everybody should be so lucky. Later finding the love of his life, Cathie. Finding and living a great life with her was a dream that became true. Her strength and commitment to all children was the most satisfying experience one could enjoy. His three children, Shawn, Meghan and Michael, were a dream come true. Their accomplishments made him so proud. They all turned into great parents which made him the most proud. His Grand Children were the final gifts of his great life. He only wished he could have spent more time with them to see them grow up to fine young adults. Between Cathie, their children and grandchildren it completed his life with so much joy and laughter!
His in laws, Joe and Hazel and Cathie's siblings always accepted him and always had his back. The various nieces and nephews on both sides all grew up to be fine adults that always enjoyed his company even with his sarcastic remarks. Then came great nieces and nephews and that just put the cherry on top of everything, he considered himself the most blessed person on earth. Life can be easy, just surround yourself with God, family and friends that love you, stir them up every so often and enjoy a great life.
He started at McDonnell aircraft, now Boeing in June 1981 and remained there for over 37 years. He met so many lifelong friends during these years and he really enjoyed hearing from them especially in his last few years.
Around 1994/1995 Patrick and Cathie met some couples at church and became lifelong best friends. Their energy, faith and loving spirits always made for good times. Towards the end they were always around to help out, it was overwhelming. Great memories!
His favorite place on earth was a little Cabin in Presque Isle WI, on Oxbow Lake. It touched his soul, and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and his nieces/nephews enjoying themselves in the Northwoods. He deeply enjoyed his fall trips with brother and cousin. Those trips further touched his soul.
Just remember Patrick with a smile, and his spirit will live on," "May his light continue to shine in our hearts," "Though gone, his love will forever be with us," "Let's cherish the happy memories and celebrate the life he led," "His legacy of happiness and kindness will live on in all who knew them.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Patrick's name to Siteman Cancer Center.
