Frank W. Brommelhorst of Creve Coeur, Missouri, passed away at the age of 97 on Sunday, April 12, 2020. Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Katherine Brommelhorst; his parents, Frank and Ella Brommelhorst; and his siblings, Eleanor Poggemoeller, Lorraine Wiese, Orville Brommelhorst, Vernon Brommelhorst, and Earl Brommelhorst.
Frank is survived by his sons, Frank (Bernice) Brommelhorst and Dennis (Ellen) Brommelhorst; his grandchildren, Susan (Tom) Schlereth and Frank (Emi) Brommelhorst; his great-grandchildren, Haru Brommelhorst, Yuki Brommelhorst, and Elinor Schlereth; and his loving nieces and nephews.
Frank proudly served his country with honor in the United States Army during World War II. He held the rank of Sergeant and had the distinction of serving in both D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. For his bravery and honorable service, Frank was awarded the Bronze Star.
After the war, Frank began a career as a machinist, and later retired after a successful career from Anheuser Busch. He belonged to Machinist’s Local District 9 and was a strong union supporter all his life. Though he loved his work, nothing was more important to Frank than his family. Family gatherings and picnics were times that Frank cherished, there was nothing he enjoyed more than time spent with his beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
