Beloved husband of the late Billie Ladage; cherished son of the late Fred Irving Ladage, Sr. and Mildred Ladage; devoted father of Debbie (Mike) Harris and Denise Ladage; loving grandfather of Jerry (Sharon Bloodworth) Congleton, Jessie Misbauer, Shelley Camp, Ellen (Mark) Spencer, Kim Congleton, and Kristen (James) Collins; treasured great-grandfather of 17; dear brother of John (Nancy) Ladage, Bonnie Montle, and brother-in-law of Mary Jane Ladage. Fred proudly served his country with honor in the United States Navy during World War II. Musically gifted, he played the organ, piano, and violin, and also sang in the US Navy Choir, as well as various church choirs. He enjoyed composing music and competed to create the “Theme of St. Louis” song in the 1960s. He liked to “keep it light”, was very outgoing, and liked to tease his grandchildren. A devoted family man, Fred cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they were equally as devoted to him. They will carry through their lives fond memories of his humor, love, and kindness, as well as many hours spent watching his beloved John Wayne movies with him. Fred was dearly loved and will be immensely missed by all who knew him.
Memorial contributions may be made in Fred’s honor to the
