Fred was a hard worker and retired after more than 50 years as an engineer. He loved his family and spending time with them was very important to him. If he gave you a nickname, then you knew he loved you as family. His grandchildren were a special treasure for him, and he loved watching them exceed at their passions.
As an outdoorsman, Fred loved to travel and always looked forward to family vacations. He planned everything with his special touch, so everyone was well taken care of. He enjoyed heading out West to the mountains and relaxing at the beach in Florida. He and his family especially enjoyed their trips to Disney World, where the magic happened. Some of Fred’s favorite places were also Moab and Santa Fe.
Fred had a great talent for cooking and made some amazing meals. He always looked forward to watching the Food Network for inspiration. He loved working with his hands and spending time outdoors doing yardwork and taking care of his pool. He liked to stay active, with soccer being a passion of his, he played in his younger years, and coached in his later years as well. He also enjoyed playing golf with his brother and friends.
As a “Jack-of-all-trades,” Fred knew how to fix just about everything, and his knowledge always came in handy. He also loved cars, especially sports cars, and some of his favorites were his Ford Mustang, his BMWs, and the Classic T-Bird he owned. Fred also enjoyed musicals and enjoyed listening to the songs from his favorite shows.
Fred will be remembered for his smile, great sense of humor, and being an all-around happy guy. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in Fred's name to Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis.
