Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Frederick L. Polumbo was born in Randolph, Vermont 3-18-1929. His mother was Beatrice Huard, his father Dominic Polumbo. Due to difficult circumstances being raised by a single mother, Beatrice placed Fred in an orphanage. He was placed with foster parents at the age of two and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey. His foster parents renamed him Frederick Paul Taylor. Soon after serving four years in the United States Army, Fred met and married Theresa. They had five children, Daniel, John, Vicky, Scott, and Jimmy. There are ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Later in life, Fred met and married Naomi McCaherty, January 12, 1996 on the island of Maui. He has two step-daughters, Marilyn and Karen, and six step grandchildren. After many years of searching and longing to know his mother, Fred found her in 1992 and visited her for the first time in 1993. He was lovingly accepted into a new family which included a brother Fredrick Church, two sisters Sunnie Comilla, Lorraine Desilites and also inherited 11 nieces and nephews. In September of 1995 Fred retired from McDonnell Douglas where he designed airplanes as an Engineer for over 30 years. He and his wife, Naomi, have resided in St. Peters for the last 8 years with his two beloved cats, King Henry and Pumpkin.
