Garfield H. “Buzz” Busse

Garfield H. "Buzz" Busse passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017, in Englewood, Colorado, at Julia Temple Healthcare Center. He was born on December 7, 1926, in Paynesville, Minnesota, the son of Emerich R. Busse and Malinda Busse. He served his country and was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1946. Garfield then worked for the U.S. Railroad until his retirement. After his wife “Pat” passed away in 2014, in Blue Springs, Missouri, he moved to Arvada, Colorado to live with his son Tom, daughter in law Toni, and two granddaughters Daniela and Isabelle. The last two years of his life he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and “Lucky,” the dog, eating good food, listening to polka music and watching “Molly Bee.” He loved trains and was always proud to share his railroad memories. He is preceded in death by his wife, “Pat”; son, “Mike”; parents; two sisters and one brother. Garfield is survived by three of his four children from his first marriage with Marylin French: Lynn Salinas and husband Alex, of Colorado, Susan St. Peter and husband Terry, of Watsonville, California, Thomas Busse and wife Toni, of Arvada, Colorado; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. “Buzz” is also survived by his brother, Stuart, of Litchfield, Minnesota. His last ride in a train will be transporting his remains from Colorado to St. Louis, Missouri to rest with his wife at the Resurrection Cemetery.
