Gary Steven Hatt

Gary Steven Hatt, of Florissant, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at the age of 68. Beloved son of the late Edwin H. and Lois M. Hatt (nee Hofmann); loving brother of Nancy (Timothy) Student; cherished uncle of Timothy (Tara) Student, II, Monica (Ryan) Bell, Allison Student, and Colleen (Doug) Thompson; and dear great uncle of Conner, Hannah, Bodhi, Rylee, Ryker, Remington, and Mylah. Gary is also survived by his cousins, Rick (Mary Ellen) Garcia, Michael (Natasha) Garcia and their children, Lauren and Alex Garcia, and Andrew (Stephanie) Garcia and their children, William and Grace Garcia. 

To know Gary was to love him. He had big blue eyes and the biggest smile. He worked at Valley Industries before he retired. He was involved with SLARC programs, including weekend camps, cooking classes, basketball, and softball.  He also attended weeklong camps at MOVal and Wonderland Camp. 

Gary liked traveling and bowling, and he collected owls and keychains on his travels. He also enjoyed fishing at various lakes, but especially at his family's house at the Lake of the Ozarks. His bubbly personality and smile will be missed by all. Gary never met a stranger.  And as he would say, "Don't worry, be happy!" 

Gary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be made in Gary's name to Valley Industries Sheltered Workshop or Shriner's Hospital.
