Gary S. Lusk
March 31, 1944 — April 2, 2022
Gary S. Lusk, of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the age of 78. Beloved husband of almost 50 years to Katrina V. Lusk; cherished son of the late Dewey I. and Georgia E. Lusk. Devoted father of Tracy (Christopher) Stutz; loving grandfather of Emily (Zachary) Harness and Logan Stutz; treasured great-grandfather of Dustin Bextermueller and Zoey Harness. Gary is also survived by his sister Sandra (Bert) Tarkenton. Gary proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam and was a member of Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. He was very accomplished in his career and received many awards, including 3 Bronze Star Medals 2 w/ V Device, 2 Air Medals w/ Device, a Purple Heart, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Parachute Badge, Combat Infantry Badge, 2 Overseas Service Ribbons, Nation Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Philippine Republic Presidential Unit Citation Badge, Master Army Aviator Badge, and Meritorious Service Medal. After retirement, Gary served as a pilot for Helicopters Incorporated, flying for their charter services and television stations including Channel 2 and 4. He then went on to drive a bus for Ft. Zumwalt School District. Gary loved travelling, had a passion for football and loved the Washington Redskins. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them. Gary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be made in Gary's name to Stray Rescue.
