Gary Gene Torrence, 72, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on August 26 after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. 

Gary was born on February 21, 1952, to Eugene and Bernice (nee Gattis) Torrence in St. Louis, MO. After Gary graduated from Riverview Gardens in 1970, he went on to study business with a major in accounting at University of Missouri-St. Louis. 

After graduating with a degree in business and earning his CPA, Gary started his career with Sisters of Mercy, kickstarting a 40-year career in the field of accounting.

In 1973, Gary met Debbie while working at Stix, Baer and Fuller. Gary and Debbie were married in 1975 and went on to have two children, Nicholas, and Jennifer. 

In 2017, Gary retired after a 17-year career at St. Louis College of Pharmacy, as the Chief Financial Officer, overseeing a large expansion project and growth of the school. Once retired, Gary spent his time on the golf course and enjoying every moment with his family. He found so much joy in his grandchildren and loved to drive them around in his Mustang convertible.

Gary is proceeded in death by his parents, Eugene and Bernice Torrence and his in-laws, Charlie, and Shirley Braun. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Torrence, his son and daughter-in-law Nicholas and Kim Torrence, son-in-law and daughter Todd and Jennifer Haug, grandchildren Gabriel, Elliott, Maren, and Blythe Haug and Kate and Emily Torrence, brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Karen Torrence, and many nieces and nephews. 

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church and School of St. Charles.
