Gary W. Mills Sr.

Gary W. Mills Sr. of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 75 on Friday, December 4, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius “J.R.” and Stella Mills; his grandson, Cooper Mills; and his siblings, Ivan (the late Mary) Mills, Vivan (the late Mary) Mills, and LaWanda (the late Alfred) Oliver.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Mills; his children, Gary W. Mills II, Teri (Cindy) Pelletier, and Traci Russell; his grandchildren, Zachary Mills, Spencer Mills, and Harlie Mills; his great-granddaughter, Erianna Mills; and his sisters, Glenda (the late Mark) Bockelman, and Brenda (Lonnie) Hasty.

Gary was a proud veteran of the United States Army and remained connected with American Legion Post #313 in St. Peters. He was a faithful member of the Calvary Temple Church community and was active in local fraternal organizations such as Elks Lodge #690 and Masonic Lodge #241 A.F. & A.M.

Gary was happy whenever he could get away to the great outdoors, especially the lake, to spend some quality time fishing or hunting. His upbeat, outgoing personality made it so that he never met a stranger and he could strike up a conversation with anybody. Above everything, Gary loved the moments he shared with his grandkids and the lasting memories they made together over the years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial contributions may be made in Gary's honor to the American Lung Association.
