Gene D. Skotnicki

Memorials may be made to charity of your choice. Skotnicki Gene D. 76 O'Fallon, MO, formerly of Peru, IL died Friday, October 30, 2009. Gene was born Dec. 11, 1932 in Peru, IL to Joe and Stella (Rataczack) Skotnicki. He grew up in Peru, IL graduating from St. Valentines grade school and St. Bede Academy (1951) Peru, IL Gene married Berneice Summers on January 19, 1954 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Arlington, IL. They lived in Peru IL until he was drafted into the army, spending most of his time in Germany. After his discharge, they moved to Bartonville, IL where he served as a Police Officer for 20 years, retiring in 1984. Gene and Berneice then moved to Florida (1987) where they lived until 2004. They then moved to Missouri to be close to family. Gene is survived by his children Bonny (Kevin) Kocker of Crane, MO, Linda (Bill) Hoogerwerf of Bartonville, IL, Douglas (Anita) Skotnicki, Aurora, IL, Curtis (Patty) Skotnicki of O'Fallon, MO. Also surviving are 9 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, a Brother Chester(Florence) Skotnicki of Boston, MA and a sister Elaine (Jack) Moyle of Kemah, TX
