Geneva L. Mallette Born September 23, 1916 in Puxico, MO. One of fourteen children. The daughter of Josie and Preston Siler. She was called home on July 20, 2009. She was 92 years old. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Silvan L. Mallette - they were married for fifty years (November 4, 1935). They had four children, Philip J. (Karen) Mallette of St. Louis and Sandra D. (Thomas) Hanlen of Memphis, Tenn. Two children died in infancy, Ruth and Dale. Seven grandchildren who loved them dearly - Michelle (Stuart) Bannatyne of Greenwich, Conn., Brandon (Pamela) Mallette of St. Louis, MO, Krista Mallette of St. Louis, MO, Sean (Miki) Hanlen of Annadale, VA, Michael Hanlen of Boston, Mass., David (Christina) Hanlen of Evanston, Ill and Lindsay Hanlen of Memphis, Tenn. Six great-grandchildren, Dylan and Emily Mallette, Elektra and Blake Bannatyne, Erin and Kate Hanlen. Out of fourteen brothers and sisters, Oneita (Tom) King, Thurman (Doris), Elva (Elizabeth), William, Herman (Veda), Laveta (Woods) Nicks, Ileana (Ray) Schmidt, Eva (Elberta), Richard (Virgina), Dennis (Geneva), Noel, Alva, Daisy, only Dennis Siler survives along with Ray Schmidt, Veda Siler, Elizabeth Siler, Geneva Siler, Patricia Mallette as in-laws. Many nieces and nephews survive as well as great-nieces and nephews along with many, many friends and extended family members. Geneva was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Home Chapter 313 in St. Louis. She was also a life long member of the Bethel Baptist Church, St. Louis County, MO. She will be buried in Puxico, MO at the City Cemetery next to her beloved husband. The family requests any donations in lieu of flowers be sent to Home Chapter of Eastern Star at 10770 Page Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63132 or St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. at 337 North Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38118. Baue Funeral Home is in charge in St. Louis. Eastern Star Services on Friday evening at 7:00 PM. Interment in Puxico, MO on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
