Genevieve W. Bauer (nee Burkemper), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the age of 96. Loving wife of the late Sylvester Peter Bauer; beloved daughter of the late Albert George and Theresa E. Burkemper; devoted mother of Judy A. Hudson, David (Kellie) Bauer, and Elaine (Joseph) Cronin; cherished grandmother of Ryan (Tina), Joey (Hailey), Molly, Neal, and Amy (Brian); treasured great-grandmother of Loretta, Mason, Madelyn, and Evangeline; sister-in-law of Marilyn (the late Leander) Bauer and Ruth (the late James) Bauer.
Genevieve is also preceded in death by her sisters, Alberta (Robert) Brown, Mary Jane Burkemper, Eileen (Oriville) Maher, Mary Lou (Vincil) Creech; and her brothers, James (Dorothy, survives) Burkemper, Jerome (Virginia) Burkemper, Alvin Burkemper, and Delbert "Duck" (Patricia) Burkemper.
Genevieve had a lot of faith and was very active in her church, All Saints Catholic Church. She loved working with her hands, sewing, quilting, and gardening, absolutely loved the beauty of flowers. Genevieve enjoyed testing her luck with a game of bingo or gambling at the casino, she loved the slot machines. She also enjoyed a good game of cards and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Most of all, Genevieve enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandkids. Genevieve was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
