George Arter Jr., of Warrenton, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the age of 78. Loving husband of the late JoAnn Arter of 49 years; Beloved son of the late George, Sr. and Marie Arter; devoted father of George A. (Cathie) Arter, III, Greg A. (April) Arter and Glenn A. (Melissa) Arter; treasured grandfather of nine; cherished great-grandfather of 14; dear brother of Vince Arter, Sr. George is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle.
George enjoyed listening to smooth jazz and he loved to play his electric bass. He owned his own business, George Arter String Instrument Repair. He was a man of profound faith. George was a good storyteller and able to talk to anyone. He enjoyed woodworking and was a talented handyman. George was a dedicated man to his family, but most importantly his wife. He will be remembered as someone who was able to touch people’s hearts wherever he went. George was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
