George Clarence Schroeter

Schroeter, George Clarence, of Saint Charles, MO, died on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the age of 73. Beloved son of the late Clarence and Eleanor Schroeter; loving husband of Darline Schroeter; devoted father of Jeffrey (Leigh) Schroeter and Eric (Anita) Schroeter; cherished grandfather of Simon and Gregory Schroeter; dear brother of Joan Murphy and Don Walzer; and treasured yellow lab, Victoria. George is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by infant son, Gregory Louis Schroeter; brother, Louis Schroeter; and sister, Mary Amann.




George was part of the first graduating class at SIUE in 1965, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He was a veracious reader of autobiographies and history. George was an active board member of De Smet Jesuit High School. He also loved flower gardens, his favorite flowers being roses, peonies, and tulips. George will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
