George E. Rauch

December 23, 1923 — June 6, 2020

George E. Rauch, born in St. Louis, formerly lived in St. Louis County, St. Charles County, and Okawville, IL, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the age of 96.

Beloved husband of the late Lorraine Cecelia Rauch; cherished son of the late Henry and Katherine Rauch; devoted father of Pam (William "Mike") Strasburg, and Nancy Black; loving grandfather of Patrick (Crystal) Strasburg, Lynn (Scott) Reid, and Jason Rauch; treasured great-grandfather of Holly Strasburg, Heather Strasburg, Emily Reid, Kaylee Reid, and Jason Rauch, Jr.; dear brother of the late Anthony Rauch.

George proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy during the Pacific and Atlantic War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion and was also a past President of the Moose Lodge. George completed the Honor Flight of Greater St. Louis to see the World War II monument in November 2015. George retired from Teamsters Local 682. He was a professional locksmith and like making things out of wood like dolls, candle holders, Christmas tree stands, and pig cutting boards. George was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. George was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
