George Ray Lloyd, better known as “Ray,” a loving husband and father of six children, died on Saturday, November 14, 2020 in St. Charles, MO at the age of 89. Ray was born on January 10, 1931 to Samuel and Elsie Lloyd in North Carolina. Ray married Gloria Fredenburg on September 2, 1950 in St. Charles, Missouri. Ray was blessed with six sons: George Jr., James, David, Steven, Michael, and Ronald. He served in the Navy, owned his own construction company, then retired from Boeing. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, and line dancing. He retired to Ocala, Florida until he moved back to MO and lived at Twin Oaks Assisted Living.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jay and Mel, one sister Tootsie, his infant son George Jr., his grandson Justin Skaggs, and his wife Gloria (Fredenburg) Lloyd.
He is survived by five sons: James Ray (Debbie) Lloyd and their daughter, Caitlin (Tyler) Sweede. David Joseph (Donna) Lloyd and their children, David Jr. (Alicia) Lloyd, Catherine (Nathan) MacGregor, and Emily Lloyd. Steven Ray Lloyd and his children, Steven Jr. (Jenny) Lloyd and Christina Lloyd. Michael Alan Lloyd and his children, Elijah Lloyd, Evangeline Lloyd, and Olivia Lloyd. Ronald Lee (Angela) Lloyd and their children, Tiffany (Aaron) Payne, Nicholas Amelia Lloyd, and Michelle (Alex) Dabney. Along with 19 great-grandchildren.
