Geraldine Rainey

Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen. Rainey, Geraldine, of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of 71 years to the late William Albert "Burr" Rainey; dear daughter of the late Mason and the late Josephine August; devoted mother of James (Peggy) Rainey; cherished grandmother of James (Trish) Rainey, Shaun (Donna) Rainey, Kendall (Keith) Venneman, Billy (Mae) Rainey, Steve Rainey, and Mason (Heather) Rainey; loving great-grandmother of 12 and great-great-grandmother of 2; dear sister of Douglas August and Nellie Mae Zander. Geraldine is preceded in death by her son William M. Rainey, granddaughter Susie Rainey, sister Bee Eifert, and brother Eddie August. Geraldine worked for AT&T for 5 years and was a member of the Eastern Star. William and Geraldine ran a hotel and restaurant called "The Beanry", which served railroad workers during their crew layovers in East St. Louis.
