Gertrude J. Messner

Gertrude "Gert" Messner, age 77, of St. Charles, Missouri, died Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Charlevoix Healthcare & Rehab Ctr, in St. Charles. A Daughter of the late Herman Weller and the late Cecilia Kline, Gertrude "Gert" was born on March 19, 1932, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Gertrude "Gert" was married to the late Louis J. Messner on April 23, 1955 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Gertrude "Gert" was a member of the Headway Social Club and the St. Charles Senior Center. Gertrude "Gert" worked as a Housekeeper at the Academy of the Sacred Heart before her retirement. Gertrude "Gert" is survived by her Son, James Messner, Daughter, Mary Louise (Randall C.) Bennett, her Grandchildren Jeffery, Randall Jr., Kellen John and Tamara Ann Bennett; her Brothers, Edmund Weller and George Weller, Sisters, Ruth Weller, Joan Kakareka and Bernadette Weller, Niece, Lisa Ann and Nephew, Tony Ray. She was a beloved cousin and friend to many. Gertrude "Gert" was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Messner. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at 10:00 AM at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 2705 Zumbehl Rd., St. Charles, MO. Interment at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
