Gertrude Newman

Newman, Gertrude May (NEE: Schatz) of St. Charles, MO passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the age of 83.  Gertrude was the dear daughter of the late Richard and May Schatz; devoted wife of the late William J. Newman Jr., loving mother of Jacqueline P. Newman, Candace (Stuart) Wilson, Penny (Willie) Elder and Bill (Shelly) Newman; cherished nana of David, Sara and Rachel; beloved sister of Louis (Jean), Bob (Pat), Les (Leola), Ed (Irene), Agnes (Harland), Virginia (DeWayne), Mary (Wayne) and Marie.  She was also a loving aunt, cousin, and friend to many and will be dearly missed by all.  Gertrude was preceded in death by her brothers Bud, Herb, Jim, Lawrence and Alan.
Gertrude was a long time parishioner of St. Ritas Catholic Church and most recently St. Peter Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Post 338.  Gertrude was known for her generous and caring heart and the way she always thought of others before herself.  She enjoyed working in her yard, bird watching and feeding; she was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her family.
