Gilbert Lauer

Lauer, Gilbert R., of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the age of 80. Gilbert was the Principal of St. Charles High School for 13 years from 1963 – 1976 and the Assistant Superintendant of City of St. Charles Public Schools for 14 years from 1976 – 1990. Loving husband of Joyce Lauer NEE: Eberlin; beloved son of the late Frank and Bertha Lauer; devoted father of Mary (Keith) Fairley, Chris (Heather) Lauer and Michael (Kelly) Lauer; cherished grandfather of Katie and Michael Fairley, Mariah, Brenden and Krystal Lauer, Abbey and Drew Lauer; dear brother of Ruth Huenefeld; beloved uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his brother Glennon Lauer. Gilbert was a former President of the Kiwanis Club, a member of the Mizzou Alumni Association, an usher at St. Cletus and active in the Secondary School Association. He played in the College World Series with Mizzou Baseball. Gilbert enjoyed golf and fishing and watching all sports, especially his grandkids.
