Gisela Kirschmer

Gisela Kirschmer (nee Franz), of Saint Charles, MO, passed into Jesus's arms on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Erwin "Heinz" Kirschmer; beloved daughter of the late Wilhelm and Hedwig Franz. Loved mother of Sabine (Kevin) Schaffer, Susan (late Donn) Schmidt, and Michael (Michele) Thornhill. Cherished grandmother of Amanda (Justin) Noelke, Sarah (Stephen) Barragan, Maddie Thornhill, Zach Thornhill, Caylee Thornhill, Nick Schmidt, Keri Schmidt, and the late Ryann Schmidt. Dear great grandmother of Mason, Sutton, and Spencer. Dear sister of the late Monika (Walter) Fichtman.

Gisela was born and raised in Germany and was very proud of her German heritage. She was married to Erwin "Heinz" for 31 years and they enjoyed polka dancing and their German Club activities. Gisela worked in the care giving field of nursing as an LPN for 42 years until her retirement. She found joy and was accomplished in crochet and made many beautiful keepsakes for her family. She was a big fan of Cardinal baseball and enjoyed watching the games in her retirement. Gisela was dearly loved and will be missed by all who loved her.
